Shan
Shan State is the largest administrative division in Myanmar, covering a vast mountainous region in the eastern part of the country. It shares borders with China, Laos, and Thailand, making it a culturally diverse and economically significant region. Tauggyi is the capital city and Lashio is the largest city. The population is around 6 million. characterized by valleys, plateaus, and mountains, through which the Salween River flows. The Shan, Pa-O, Palaung, Wa, Danu, and other ethnic groups call this place home. The main industry is agriculture, with important roles played by the production of tea, coffee, fruits, and opium. Additionally, tourism is expanding, particularly in the area of Inle Lake.
